This test detects Neisseria gonorrhoeae DNA on genital swabs, and extragenital swabs from rectal and oropharyngeal sites. Neisseria gonorrhoeae susceptibility testing is important for public health purposes. Please collect a separate blue capped bacterial swab or eswab for MC&S. In-house testing can only be performed on specimens collected via the Abbott multi-Collect Specimen Collection Kit. This includes genital swabs collected using this method, and sterile urine collections. All other testing is referred to VIDRL, please see: Neisseria Gonorrhoea PCR - VIDRL Sendout |
