Additional Collection Instructions

Dedicated Lithium Heparin - Gel (Mint Green) tube on ice is the preferred sample type. Ensure that the correct volume of blood is collected - do not UNDER-fill.

Shepparton: Dedicated 4ml EDTA tube is the only acceptable specimen type at Shepparton Lab. Must be collected at lab based site only.

Please fill tube with the required volume of blood, as exposure to air spuriously increases the level of ammonia.

No other tests should be assigned to this tube.

Please note: As of 24/2/2020, Ammonia measured on Beckman-Coulter AU.
