Ordering Information

1,25 Dihydroxy Vitamin D is the active metabolite, but is not routinely used as a measure of Vitamin D deficiency as levels tend to be preserved even when 25 Vit D is low. It is most useful in the investigation of hypercalcaemia in suspected granulomatous disease, where the PTH production is suppressed, or for monitoring patients on Calcitriol (1,25 Vitamin D) therapy. |
