Collection Instructions
|
Cultures from drain fluid samples are difficult to interpret due to frequent isolation of colonising organisms. Percutaneous aspiration of fluid is the preferred sample type. Collect 2 - 10 mL and place most of the specimen into a sterile container (70ml yellow top). If Cytology and/or Biochemistry required please separate if possible, into 2 or 3 serile containers (70ml yellow top). |
