Ordering Information

Please ensure all requests for MLH1 Promoter methylation analysis are accompanied by a copy of the histopathology report.

To order, please complete Austin Molecular Solid Tumour Test Request Form V10 indicating the test required and the biopsy number and date of collection of the sample you wish to be tested.

After this form has been completed, please forward it to the Anatomical Pathology laboratory via the fax number found on the request form.

NB: NATA/RCPA accreditation does not currently cover the performance of this service.

Collection Instructions

Sample requirements (Blocks):

  • FFPE tumour block: from the same block/slides used for MMR IHC
  • FFPE Normal Tissue: Any section

OR

Sample requirements (Slides):

  • Tumour Sample: 1 x H&E stained slide (4-5μm)
  • Tumour Sample: 6 x unstained slides (4-5μm)

AND

  • Normal Sample: 1 x H&E stained slide (4-5μm)
  • Normal Sample: 6 x unstained slides (4-5μm)

Add On Test Suitability

This test may be added on for as long as suitable FFPE tissue can be obtained.

Once fixed and processed, FFPE tissue remains suitable for analysis indefinitely.
