Please note, i-STAT testing is only available at sites which have an i-STAT analyser. This assay may not be available at all healthcare facilities.
The i-STAT system uses direct (undiluted) electrochemical methods. Values obtained by direct methods may differ from those obtained by indirect (diluted) methods.
Serial troponin measurements are recommended to assess for a rise and/or fall, with at least one value exceeding 99th percentile upper reference limit for evaluation of suspected acute coronary syndrome, in accordance with local guidlines.
Results are assay specific. Serial testing should be performed using the same assay as troponin values are not interchangebale between methods.
