IMPORTANT: All requests for Infliximab (INFLECTRA or REMICADE) will be performed at Austin Pathology. Testing for antibodies to Infliximab will be automatically performed if the drug level is below detection.

If it is required or preferred for the testing to be performed specifically by NSW Health Pathology, please indicate so on the request form.

Instructions for: Regional Specimen Receptions

  • Transport to the Heidelberg Laboratory at 4°C

Instructions for: Heidelberg Specimen Reception 

  • For INFLX: Centrifuge sample and hand to Biochemistry. This test is performed in-house urgently.
  • For INFL: Serum is sent to SSWPS (Liverpool) NSW. 5ml blood in a serum tube is preferred in case measurement of antibodies is required. Send 1 mL serum at least.

Instructions for: Heidelberg Sendaways Department

  • The serum sample should be centrifuged, separated and refrigerated at 4°C. Send to SSWPS Liverpool with an ice pack.
