This test detects the C677T mutation. If the A1298C mutation is specifically requested, the test is referred to Dorevitch.

The specimen must be received in Austin Pathology within 72 hrs of collection.

Please collect a separate dedicated 1 x 4mL EDTA tube unless Prothrombin Gene Mutation and/or Methylenetetrahydrofolate Reductase (MTHFR) are also requested.

Prothrombin Gene Mutation, Methylenetetrahydrofolate Reductase (MTHFR) and/or Factor V leiden testing can be performed on the same 1 x 4mL EDTA tube.

A citrate tube is not acceptable.
