Laboratory Notes

After centrifugation, coagulation specimens remain viable for up to 8 hours at room temperature (RT).

Instructions for: Regional Laboratories

  • Please ensure routine coagulation testing is validated prior to double centrifuging for Complex Haemostasis testing.
  • Create a Platelet Poor Plasma aliquot by double centrifuging, aliquoting, and freezing (in line with LWI-HAUT-007)
  • Refer to LWI-HAUT-021 for the number of aliquots required for this test.

  • Please forward frozen aliquots to the Coagulation Department. Hand directly to a staff member.
