For Paediatric collections, an ESR test can be performed using the same specimen however a minimum volume of 500uL is required.

Notes

Artefactual abnormalities of cells begin to appear if the specimen is not processed within 8 hours after collection. A pre-analytical delay of 24 hours is not recommended as the measurement of some parameters will be inaccurate.
